What is up with those animations in the intro? Amazing!
Some of it looked like 3D with pixelation shaders, and some looked like pure pixel art.
Is it mixed, pure 2D or pure 3D with shaders?

MartinJacob responds:

Hi! Thank you for your kind words!
It's 100% 2D pixel art

So, an AI was created to save humanity. Then, because it couldn't reach perfection, it decided to wipe out everything to start over? Not menacing at all!

That's a very nice puzzle game and a refreshing concept, but for me the cherry on top is the art. I spent quite a while in the start menu alone, taking in all the details and the art style.

Amazing!

MartinJacob responds:

Thank you! It's a pleasure to read feedback like this. Let's hope it's a pessimistic take on AI :')

Doggle has the same dialogue as Hyun right after you beat his game. Other than that, pretty cool game!

JasoonMargoon responds:

That'll be fixed Monday, sorry about that!

Tell me you plan on making a full game. PLEASE.
I need that in my life.

Yword responds:

Thank you so much for playing! (And I hope to make a full version in the future too.)

I really really like this game. It's very hard for a game to bring me back nowadays and this one did it 3 times already, just today. It's grindy, but I understand that's part of the design. The one thing I must say could be changed is the attack charge time. The gameplay gets so fast paced that if I stop attacking for the time it takes for it to charge I just get wrecked. The charged attack also does about the same damage as 3 normal consecutive attacks, and it's a lot better and faster to just attack multiple times. I bought the upgrade and pretty much haven't used it.

Franuka responds:

Thanks a lot for the comment, I'm glad you're enjoying it :D
True, the map is quite small and the attack cooldown can be a bit high when there's too many enemies spawned at the same time.
Charged attack is very situational. Usually it's not worth it, as you say, but if you invest in attack upgrades it can one-shot anything, and it becomes useful later on when there's healers and you can't rely on basic attacks to kill some enemies quickly. Also, it's super useful for the bossfight ;)

I'm not sure what to say about the gameplay, it feels like it's probably being made to be played with a gamepad and I don't have experience with that to say what should be changed. Overall I liked playing through it.

What I'd really like to point out is the characters bonding. There was not much of a story in this demo, but the few speech interactions they had made me understand that the bond between them is very strong, and because of that, the end hit me hard in the feels. That s*** was sad AF.

I'll give it a 5, because I know I'd gladly play through the end just to know more about the story, even if I felt the gameplay itself was just average.

BigBossErndog responds:

Thank you! I’m really happy the characters got through to you, it means a lot :)

I will definitely be doing a lot more testing with the controls for the final game, some people have found it awkward. Mind pm-ing me which control scheme you were using and discuss it further? (Like if you used keyboard, mouse, hybrid, touch, etc)

It is possible to play with a gamepad, slightly buggy in the web version, but works just fine on the download version.

This game is outstanding.
The sounds, the music, the graphic style, the difficulty curve and the limited number of lives are all things that, in my opinion, are perfectly balanced.
I swear I had ZERO lives left when I beat the last level.
I'd 100% buy this as a full game!

Andostress responds:

omg really thank you very much for your encouragement :o

Pretty good! I'd buy that as full game.

UltimoGames responds:

I am planning on releasing the game on steam and other platforms, gotta find a proper publisher first. Thanks Pantakrator!

The i's in your logo look rather phallic. Oh, the game? That was pretty good!

dietzribi responds:

Yeah I know... Wasn't intentional, don't have the heart to change it now after it appears in like 6 games. IT'S OUR TRADEMARK

It is very easy to hide the cursor on unity.

Cursor.lockState = CursorLockMode.Locked;
Cursor.visible = false;

Having the cursor going off the screen all the time is a game breaking thing for me.

I'll still give it 3 stars because I think the game deserves it. It is unique.

TheMillz responds:

Thanks, I could look into hiding it ( Im using playmaker, don't know code ) and replacing the file

EDIT: Was pretty easy in playmaker too, one quick added action and I think it's a big improvement--far less annoying not having to readjust the mouse all the time, thanks for the comments

I make potato related stuff.
